Everyone loves a good TED Talk. Here's one of our favorites:
Siddhartha Roy calls on the next generation of scientists and engineers to work in service of the public good.
Technical training is key in developing scientist and engineers, but we're not as good at teaching ethical decision-making or building character in individuals pursuing these careers. When the environmental water crisis unfolded in Flint, Michigan, professionals there did nothing to fix it. Siddhartha Roy worked to help prove that Flint's water was contaminated and in this talk examines why science in service to the public good is key. He also implores future scientists and engineers to dedicate their work to protecting people and the planet.
