Everyone loves a TED Talk, here’s one of our favorites:
In October, Nili Gilbert explored what it can mean in the financial sector to decarbonize investment portfolios as a way to fight climate change. Gilbert noted that, unfortunately, portfolios can be "cleaned" without having any real impact on the climate change problem. An expert in investment decarbonization, Gilbert knows what will help and what will not actually do anything. Her talk brings the worlds of science to finance together to explain how investors can actually help decarbonize the world. While this is an extremely expensive endeavor (estimated to cost between three to five trillion dollars per year from now through 2050), doing so would ensure that the climate transition is just, global, and interconnected.
